About the system
A digital tachograph is a device that automatically records driving time, rest periods and other activity of the driver. The digital tachograph card is the driver's personal card used to identify the driver and record data on their work and rest. Tachographs are mandatory for vehicles used in commercial transportation and help control compliance with working and rest time rules, reducing the risk of accidents caused by driver fatigue.

Legal entities, to obtain a company card.
Types of digital tachograph cards
Driver card
A personal card for identifying the driver and recording data on working hours. Issued to each driver individually. Valid for 5 years.
Company card
Allows companies to obtain data from the tachograph and manage it. Issued to a legal entity or individual entrepreneur. Valid for 5 years.
Controller card
For traffic inspectors and supervisory bodies; used to check tachograph data. Valid for 5 years.
Workshop card
For certified workshops that calibrate and configure tachographs. Valid for 1 year.
Who must use a tachograph
Freight transportation
Vehicles with a mass of more than 3.5 tonnes used for commercial freight transportation.
Passenger transportation
Buses and minibuses used to carry more than 8 passengers for commercial purposes.
International transportation
All vehicles engaged in international transportation, regardless of mass and type.

Important information
Card validity
Driver, company and controller cards are valid for 5 years. The workshop card is valid for 1 year.
